Detailed description

Fahrmodi R nineT 21+

  • All driving modes remain available for selection
  • DYNA or DIRT offer the sportiest set-up
  • Customer-specific adjustments such as "thrust acoustics active in other driving modes" possible

Injection & Ignition (R nineT)

  • Optimized torque curve in part and full load
  • Power increase up to 5HP possible (depending on bike hardware)
  • Torque increase up to 4Nm possible (depending on bike hardware)

Dyno diagram example (values measured on wheel) with stock exhaust: BMW R nineT 2015    |    BMW R nineT 2017   |    BMW R nineT 2021
Dyno diagram example (values measured on wheel) with racing exhaust: BMW R nineT 2017

e-Gas (R nineT 2021+)

  • All modes: softer throttle response / improved behavior when applying throttle
  • RAIN: remains nearly OEM
  • ROAD: softer pick-up with linear response
  • DYNA/DIRT: softer pick-up with linear sporty response

Assistance systems ASC / DTC (R nineT 2021+)

  • ROAD: reduced traction intervention when the front wheel is lifted (near to stock DYNA behaviour)
  • DYNA/DIRT: strongly reduced traction intervention when the front wheel is lifted to prevent nervousness due to abrupt torque reduction (e.g. in the case of crests or bumpy roads)
  • No kangaroo effect (front wheel hopping) when dynamic drive away

Exhaust burble / fired engine break (R nineT)

Improved in V2023!

  • S-Variant: Activation of exhaust burble
    2014-2016: not available
2021+: enabled in DYNA or DIRT
  • R-Variant: Activation of fired engine brake (permanent exhaust roar at 0% throttle) and higher braking stability by reducing engine braking torque
Sound comparison

Acoustics: Exhaust flap (in S-variant, R nineT 21+)

  • Stock behaviour of acoustic flap in neutral and near stock while starting from stillstand
  • Acoustic flap always open while driving
  • Optimized Sound and torque during lower and mid rpm range
  • Better audibility of the bike while braking through open exhaust flap
  • 2021+: CAT heating inactive (no increase of idle speed after engine start)

Prepared for common R nineT race conversions (only in "R" version)

  • Exhaust flap and servo can be removed
  • O2 Sensors
(from 2021: Broadband sensor before CAT must remain, after CAT can be removed)
  • knock control sensors can be removed
  • 2017+: fuel tank venting valve including activated carbon filter can be removed
  • 2021+: CAT heating inactive (no increase of idle speed after engine start)

Individual requirements possible at an additional cost, for example (model dependent) ...

  • Set engine speed limitation to individual value
  • Individual behavior of acoustics flap(s), e.g. automatic compromisis according to riding style
  • Enabling of launch control (if not enabled from stock)
  • Keep (A2) power restrictions in defined riding modes
  • Reversing of shift assistant operation direction (for reverse shifting on M/S1000XR)
  • Adjust traction control to individual data (e.g. allow unusually high slip values)
  • Stronger / weaker wheeliecontrol in individual rider modes
  • Fine tuning on your own bike on our test bench
  • ...
